Full Steam Ahead with Land and Housing Pilot Program in Armidale NSW

Last month we broke ground in four separate locations within Armidale NSW for Land and Housing.

This month we have so far dug trenches for plumbing and continue to make steady progress with a projected finish time of just before Christmas – in time for Santa!

Simpson Building Group was chosen as one of just seven builders to undertake LAHC’s pilot program to build $26 million dollars worth of 100 new social homes throughout NSW.

LAHC’s Chief Executive, Mick Cassel said the home builders will construct either attached dual occupancy homes (usually two dwellings)… using the NSW Government’s Low-Rise Housing Diversity Code.

“The Code has been subject to extensive consultation and supports well-designed and sustainable homes that respond appropriately to the character of the area, landscape setting and surrounding built form,” Mr Cassel said.

“These homes look and appear just like other low-density homes that are found in local residential areas and will blend in seamlessly with surrounding local communities; including 55 per cent which will be located outside of metropolitan Sydney.”
